Description We are looking for a detail-oriented entry-level Accountant to join our team in Novi, Michigan. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting essential accounting processes. Responsibilities: - Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting. - Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy. - Conduct account reconciliations to support month-end and year-end closing processes. - Monitor job cost accounting to track project expenses and profitability. - Analyze Work-In-Progress (WIP) data to assess project status and financial implications. - Assist in compiling documentation and data for internal and external audits. - Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and systems. - Support financial reporting by preparing accurate and timely reports as needed. - Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field. - Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts. - Strong understanding of account reconciliations and month-end closing processes. - Familiarity with audit procedures and the preparation of relevant documentation. - Knowledge of job costing and Work-In-Progress (WIP) analysis a plus - Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies. - Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
