**Responsibilities** **Position Summary:** + This position is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and/or NIV testing at a technical level not requiring constant supervision under the general direction of a radiologist and radiology administration. + In accordance with the mission and philosophy of Catholic Healthcare West the Sonographer is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for performing diagnostic testing used in the assessment planning implementation and evaluation of care for patients. **Qualifications** **Minimum:** + Must have completed a formal Sonography course or have completed four years of progressively responsible experience in an ultrasound department (such experience must have been within the last five years). + Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasonographers (RDMS) or RDCS or RVT in at least one field of specialization (i.e. Echocardiography/Doppler Abdominal or OB/Gyn) or eligibility for certification and must achieve certification within one year of eligibility. + (CT ARDMS) Current Basic Life Support for healthcare providers required.
