Education Technician I

Beginning 2025-26 School Year

Spruce Mountain High School & Primary School 

(1 for HS Life Skills / 1 for HS Resource & 1 for PS SEL) 

Description: 

RSU #73 is looking for (3) caring, compassionate, and patient educational technicians to join the district special education team.  Students in the programs have a wide variety of academic and functional needs that must be addressed in ways that foster student development and growth.  Successful candidates will closely collaborate with program team members to manage student behaviors, implement IEPs and behavior plans, introduce new learning preplanned with the classroom teacher or academic content teacher, and support students in the regular and special education setting in both small groups and one on one to meet students' unique needs. On-the-job guidance will be provided.  

Qualifications: 

• Must be eligible and apply for or have authorization as an education technician I through the Maine Department of Education (MDOE).  Please go to for more information. 
• Maine State Law requires all school employees to be fingerprinted and pass a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) for the Department of Education.  For more information go to:
• Experience working with students with functional needs as well as social and emotional challenges is preferred
