Central Telecommunications Operator
Pay: $25 per hour
Hours: Monday – Friday, 4:30 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.
Location: Tulsa, OK

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Central Telecommunications Operator to support a hospital/medical team in Tulsa. The Central Telecommunications Operator will be responsible for answering and routing inbound calls, dispatching urgent clinical notifications, and monitoring alarms and codes. This position requires excellent multitasking, communication skills, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound calls courteously and route to the correct department or staff member with a 99% answer rate .
  • Dispatch routine and critical clinical messages to the appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor and respond to alarms, alerts, codes, and drills in accordance with protocols.
  • Maintain accurate on-call schedules for physicians and departments.
  • Input and update account notations to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Accurately answer, document, and relay medical answering service information.
  • Report hardware/software issues that could affect customer service.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a telecommunications or related role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and perform well in high-stress situations.
  • Accurate typing speed of 40 WPM or higher .
  • Must be able to defuse tense situations while remaining professional.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic knowledge of phone/computer technology and ASCOM systems .

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
