This is not a "keep the books" job-this is your launchpad to VP Finance and ultimately CFO as the firm scales. If you've mastered the Controller seat and are craving more influence, more strategy, and a bigger seat at the table, this is your opportunity. You'll work side-by-side with the Founding Partner, guiding fund operations, sharpening infrastructure, and shaping the financial backbone of the firm's next growth phase. What You'll Do + Oversee all fund and management company accounting in partnership with top-tier external providers + Lead audits, tax filings, LP reporting, capital calls, and distributions + Monitor cash flow and support capital planning across multiple entities + Build and refine internal financial controls, reporting systems, and dashboards + Contribute to fund modeling, valuations, and fundraising preparation + Partner with leadership on strategic and operational initiatives that drive firm growth Who You Are + 5-10+ years in accounting/finance, ideally from venture capital, private equity, or fund admin + Strong GAAP knowledge, fund accounting expertise, and experience with partnership structures + Comfortable working directly with fund admins, auditors, and tax professionals + Entrepreneurial mindset-adaptable, proactive, and energized by a lean, high-impact environment + CPA preferred, with proven ability to own projects end-to-end Requirements Why You'll Love It Here + Clear career trajectory: Controller → VP Finance → CFO + Carry participation as the firm grows + Unlimited PTO + remote flexibility (Bay Area presence preferred) + Direct access to an accomplished founder and investment team + Be part of a highly focused, expanding venture capital firm about to launch its next fund This is more than a finance role-it's your opportunity to be the future financial architect of a growing investment platform.
