Responsibilities
Prepare patients :Review patient records, test results, and checklists, and initiate IV lines
Administer medi cat ions :Give medi cat ions as needed
Monitor patients :Document vital signs and assess the patient's condition
Assist with imaging :Help with procedures that use imaging
Respond to emergencies :Assist physicians during emergencies and adverse reactions
Edu cat e patients :Provide information and support before, during, and after procedures
Training and experience
Cat h lab nursing is an advanced specialty that requires more than basic nursing qualifi cat ions
Traditional programs take at least four years of schooling, and you may also need critical care experience
Healthcare facilities often prefer candidates with significant experience
