Job Description

Just across the river from Portland, Oregon, you'll find our beautiful Vancouver, Washington! Our clinic is proud to call Vancouver home and excited to be working out of our new location on McGillivray Blvd!

We are a well established pediatric private practice looking for an SLP that is able to work independently. We have a great presence in the community and would love an SLP that is able to provide the highest quality services with confidence.

About our practice:

We are a fun team of SLP's ,OT's, and PT that love to work with kids! About half of the caseload is 0-5 early intervention and the other half is over 5 years old. We accept most insurances and private pay.

Would prefer an SLP with at least 2 years experience and an interest in feeding disorders and/or oromyofunctional disorders. Training and supervision for this specialty will be provided. Most patients will be in-clinic, some will be teletherapy.

We offer 4, 10 hr days or 5, 8 hr days. Part time candidates are also welcome to apply!

Candidate must hold their ASHA and WA state licensures for Speech Language Pathologist.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates the needs of children with speech or language disorders and provides written and verbal assessment results to the families. Meets with students weekly according to treatment program schedule, evaluates, and maintains records of child's progress.
  • Implements Plan of Care and provides weekly therapy sessions to child.
  • Reports progress to parents and meets with them regularly. Suggests activities parents can do with their child to assist and supplement the student's speech therapy program. Attempts to add to their understanding of the program and answers questions and addresses concerns they may have about it.
  • Repeats evaluations on a annual basis to measure progress according to professional guidelines.
  • Talks with students to determine their feelings about the program and their progress or any frustrations they may feel about the therapy.
  • Keeps current with professional literature and attends continuing on a regular basis to maintain and update professional skills.
  • Reports directly to the Clinical Manager.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Hearing ability sufficient to evaluate student's speech.
  • Skill communicating verbally and in writing with students, faculty members, and parents so that all parties understand the program and the degree of progress being made.
