Job Description

This Registered Nurse position in an Emergency Room setting requires a minimum of one year of experience and provides care to adult and pediatric patients with varying acuity levels. The RN will perform a wide range of duties, including patient assessment, medication administration, and management of complex medical conditions. Floating to other units is required based on census needs.

Responsibilities:

- Providing comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in the Emergency Department.
- Assessing patients' conditions, administering medications, and developing treatment plans.
- Managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
- Administering blood products and managing central lines.
- Performing phlebotomy, starting IVs, and administering continuous IV paralytics and sedation.
- Administering emergency medications and IV vasopressors.
- Performing procedural sedation.
- Managing patients experiencing a CVA (stroke).
- Implementing isolation precautions.
- Charting in Epic.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
- Floating to other units as needed based on census.
- Working every other weekend.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Minimum of one year of experience in an emergency department setting.
- Proficiency in general emergency department nursing, including adult and pediatric care.
- Skill in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias.
- Ability to manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
- Experience with blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV starts, continuous IV paralytics and sedation, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation.
- Knowledge of CVA management and isolation precautions.
- Experience with Epic charting (preferred).

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Experience in a combined adult/pediatric emergency department.

Special Considerations:

- Floating to other units is required based on census needs.
- Every other weekend work is required.
- Minimal remote work is allowed.
- First-time RNs are accepted.
- Travel within a 75-mile radius may be required.
- Pending licenses are not accepted.

Scheduling:

- Every other weekend rotation is required.
- Shift type and scheduling details will be discussed during the interview process. The employer will attempt to accommodate block scheduling requests, but this is not guaranteed.
