Program Associate and Underwriter Location Hybrid remote in King of Prussia, PA :

PROGRAM ASSOCIATE AND UNDERWRITER

General Description :

Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation (PATF) provides financing opportunities, education, and advocacy for people with disabilities and older Pennsylvanians, helping them to acquire the assistive technology devices and services that improve the quality of their lives. PATF is Pennsylvania's Alternative Financing Program (AFP) as designated by the federal Assistive Technology Act. PATF is also a state and federally certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).

This full-time position includes appropriate compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, as well as other benefits.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Answer phone and e-mail requests for information.
  • Process financial loan applications, verifying the accuracy and completeness of each file.
  • Collect required documentation from applicants and follow-up on missing items.
  • Collect and input data into loan servicing software and PATF's data system.
  • Summarize applicant's financial information to lender or board for final loan funding decision.
  • Provide applicants with timely and periodic status updates of their loan application.
  • Examine, understand, and interpret consumer credit reports.
  • Prepare loan closing documents and disburse loan funds.
  • Preserve client confidentiality by securely managing files and data.
  • Prepare invoices for borrowers.
  • Provide post loan technical assistance.
  • Attend and participate in occasional outreach events.
  • Carry out other such duties as may be assigned or requested.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn database management systems.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED required; College degree preferred.
  • Two years' experience in consumer lending.
  • Experience in providing varied customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience of the disability community.
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and/or assistive technology funding sources.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • This is a hybrid work environment that requires a routine, weekly office presence as well as the ability to be present in the office more often if needed.
  • Primarily works remotely and in standard office conditions and climate.
  • May work at a desk and on a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, and legally required automobile insurance.
