Principal Landscape Architect

Qualifications
Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture
Minimum 15+ years of relevant professional experience
California licensure required
Proven track record in business development
Excellent knowledge of landscape construction documents
Proficient in CAD, Photoshop, and SketchUp
Strong design and construction administration skills
Independent decision-making ability
Leadership and supervisory experience
Working knowledge of accounting principles
Strong relationship-building skills with clients, public agencies, and internal teams
Local experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and manage team members, including assigning and reviewing work
Ensure quality control and adherence to deadlines
Prepare cost estimates and assist with graphic presentations
Apply design principles to guide project outcomes
Manage project schedules and budgets
Prepare contracts, scopes of work, and fee proposals
Engage regularly with clients and public agencies
Lead large and complex projects from start to finish
Business Development Responsibilities
Strengthen brand recognition and drive financial growth
Prepare proposals with a clear vision and approach
Build and maintain client relationships across the development industry
Represent the company at conferences, meetings, and industry events
Set and achieve business growth targets
Thrive in a fast-paced, proactive environment with minimal supervision
