Working Conditions

• This position in located in the Riverpoint Marketplace area of West Sacramento (10 minutes from downtown), near the IKEA. Our building offers a free parking lot to employees and is within walking distance of numerous restaurants and shops.

• This position is eligible for a hybrid telework option, in accordance with CAL FIRE’s telework policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

• Statewide travel (15%) with possibly overnight stays. Will be required work at remote facilities or incidents to affect repairs onsite, which can involve overnight travel. Hardware repair requires occasional lifting of PC’s and printers which should not exceed 40 pounds.

Special Requirements

• If using education to meet Minimum Qualifications, please provide transcripts. All job applicants must provide their employment history on the application form (State Application STD 678) rather than attaching a resume to the form, otherwise the application may be considered incomplete.

If it is determined a candidate does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Experience or knowledge using or supporting Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
• Experience or knowledge in low-code/no-code development environments or workflow  automation platforms.
• Ability to provide front-line technical assistance and escalate issues appropriately.

SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONNAIRE

Supplemental Questionnaire

All interested applicants must file an "Examination and/or Employment Application (Std. 678), a resume, and a Supplemental Questionnaire (SQ). Any applicants who do not complete the SQ (details and guidelines below) and submit it with their application and resume may be disqualified from consideration. The screening committee will compare each applicant's qualifications for the position against specific job-related evaluation criteria developed from the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the job classification. Supplemental Questionnaire Guidelines

When preparing your Supplemental Questionnaire, please follow these guidelines:

*The information you provide must be complete and presented in a clear and concise manner.

*Your Statement of Qualifications must be typewritten using Arial 12-point font.

*Limit your response to no more than one (2) typewritten pages.

1. Describe a low- or no-code application or other development tools you have designed or supported. What tools or platforms did you use (for example, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, or Azure DevOps, GitHub). What types of tasks or issues have you helped to resolve?

2. Explain how you gather and document business needs when building or enhancing applications. How do you go about understanding their needs and communicating them to the development team to create a technical solution?

3. What does being “data-driven” mean to you? Give an example of how you’ve used data or reports to help improve work quality, efficiency, or decision-making.

Required Application Package Documents

The following items are required to be submitted with your application. Applicants who do not submit the required items timely may not be considered for this job:
