**Duties:** The responsibilities include interpreting studies from all modalities, in addition to conducting diagnostic mammograms with breast biopsies.
**Required Procedures:** Interpretation of Mammograms, PET scans, and the performance of breast biopsies. **Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System:** Cerner
**Support Staff:** The clinic is staffed with radiology technicians, ultrasound technicians, and additional support personnel.
**Types of Cases:**
The average monthly volume for cases is as follows. Please note that a radiologist is available on-site for mammography services three days per week: - Procedures (wire localization, biopsies, etc.): 13 - Screening Mammograms: 225 - Diagnostic Mammograms: 30
**Types of Reads:** For the interventional radiologist, the responsibilities will encompass: - Procedures (including but not limited to thoracentesis, paracentesis, biopsies, drains, introduction of abdominal drains, suprapubic catheters, nephrostomy tube placements, etc.) - CT scans - X-rays - Ultrasounds - MRIs
The radiologist will be expected to read from a list of radiological studies originating from the emergency department and inpatient units during the day. If there are studies that the radiologist does not feel proficient in interpreting, they have the option to refer them to MRG, our Teleradiology group.
For the radiologist in Building 4, the primary need is for expertise in mammography and breast biopsies. If the individual is also capable of reading PET scans, it would be greatly appreciated, along with the ability to interpret other studies (CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound, etc.).
**Qualifications:**
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility is required.
- A valid state license is required.
- Completion of residency is necessary; there is no specific fellowship requirement. The candidate must be able to perform diagnostic mammograms and biopsies.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification are required during the credentialing process.
- A clean malpractice history is preferred.
