Come and join us in the ChristianaCare Pharmacy - Dedicated to getting the right drug to the right patient at the right time!The Pharmacy Department is recruiting for a full time Pharmacy Technician to work day shift in the Prescription Data Center (PDC) located at the Health Care Center in Newark, Delaware. Days for this position are Monday through Friday. Hours will rotate between 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. or 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This position may occasionally cover shifts in the Wilmington or Christiana Retail pharmacies, or in the Mail Order Pharmacy.Responsibilities:Fill patient prescriptions to include data entry, insurance billing, and appropriate labeling and packaging, for pharmacist verification.Assist the pharmacist in providing timely, efficient, cost effective, and appropriate pharmaceutical care to the patientMake medication credit and charge adjustments via the computer systemProcess new orders for the Pharmacy Discharge Program and the Meds-to-Beds programObtain patient demographic, insurance, and health information from the health system EMR used for creating a new patient profile within the pharmacy dispensing systemReview Patient EMR charts to obtain ICD10 codes and review case manager notes for specific encountersResearch and resolve insurance rejectionsEffectively communicate with case managers, nurses, providers, and patientsAnswer telephones and greet personnel coming into the pharmacy in a courteous and friendly mannerProvide necessary information regarding patient drug ordersRefer problems and drug information inquiries to the pharmacist as requiredOrient and train new pharmacy personnelEducation and Experience Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent requiredPharmacy Technician Certification through PTCB requiredAt least one year of Pharmacy Technician experience requiredKnowledge of generic and trade names of formulary drugsAbility to type and perform basic math calculationsChristianaCare Offers:Incredible Work/Life benefits including medical/dental/ vision insurance coverage on your first day of employment, paid PTO, retirement plans, twelve weeks of paid parental leave, annual membership to care.com, access to backup care services for dependents through Care@Work, retirement planning services, financial coaching, fitness and wellness reimbursement, and great discounts through several vendors for hotels, rental cars, theme parks, shows, sporting events, movie tickets and much more!
