We Are Currently Seeking a Part-time Floral Designer for Anita’s Garden Shop.

The Role:

As a Floral Designer at Anita’s Garden Shop, you’ll create beautiful, custom designs for our loyal customers and build meaningful connections with new clients. You will contribute your ideas, create original designs, and ensure an enjoyable garden shop experience for our visitors. You will be delighting people all over Jacksonville with your custom designs.

Anita’s Garden Shop is a family-owned, boutique-style garden shop nestled in the Historic Avondale district. We specialize in seasonal, living flowering arrangements, planted gardens, custom wreaths, and faux floral arrangements. Anita’s signature style elevates all of our unique offerings and has been adorning the homes of Jacksonville for over 35 years!

Duties : 

A day in the life of a Floral Designer starts at 10 am setting up the store, making sure our customers have a true garden shop experience. Next, you’ll work your way through the shop, checking each plant and arrangement for water and optimal quality, ensuring we offer only the best to our customers. Once the shop is looking good, you’ll check on the plants in the greenhouse as well. Throughout the day you’ll take phone orders, sell to customers as they shop the retail floor, create arrangements, and consult with clients to fulfill their needs. Often you will redecorate a vignette, unpack and price new products, or organize inventory shelves. Upon closing time, you’ll tidy the work areas, bring in the decor from out front, and close up shop. There’s rarely a dull moment and always something beautiful to be made!

Details:

This job opening is for a part-time position of 3 days per week, in which your selected weekdays are flexible! You may be asked to work additional hours during peak holidays. The regular shop hours are 10-5 M-F and 10-4 on Saturdays.

• Looking to express your creativity with custom planted floral designs.

• Have true professional floral experience.
• The ability to lift the occasional heavy object.
• The capacity for hard work without supervision.

The process:

• We are looking for experienced candidates , so you may be asked for a portfolio or representation of your work.
• We will have you in for an interview at the shop to meet Anita and the rest of the team as well as give you a tour.
• We will hire the best candidate as soon as we can!

Job Type : Part-time

Pay : Starting at $16.00 per hour based on experience

Expected hours: Around 20-25 per week
