JOB TITLE: (P) Aircraft Structural Mechanics Heavy Modifications

LOCATION: North Charleston, SC

PAY RATE: $28-38/hour

Summary:

  • Perform complex assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and aircraft systems, equipment, and accessories.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical aircraft components using comprehensive technical knowledge.

  • Conduct structural modifications and repairs; assess functionality of non-complex electrical systems.

  • Operate specialized aircraft tools, including test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, and shears.

  • Execute tasks such as pull holes, match & back drilling, fastener removals, riveting, sleeve bolt drilling, and system, wire, and tube installations.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements.

  • Maintain required certifications, licenses, and permits for assigned work.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of on-aircraft heavy structural experience.

  • 5+ years in MRO, Repair Station, AOG, or Travel MODS environments.

  • 5+ years of experience removing and restoring aircraft assemblies.

  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent education.

  • 10+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Desired Skills:

  • 10+ years of aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing experience.

  • 2+ years of composites experience.

  • 2+ years of experience with Velocity and Redars systems.
