Job Description

We're a warm family with a sweet, energetic toddler who just turned 2. One parent will be recovering from right shoulder surgery, so we're looking for reliable in-home care during the recovery period and we'd love to find someone who may be interested in continuing afterward as well. Primary childcare Provide attentive, engaging care for our 2-year-old throughout the shift Plan age-appropriate activities (reading, crafts/sensory play, music, outdoor play, etc.) Encourage routines, manners, and positive toddler behavior with calm redirection Meals + nap Prepare and serve simple toddler meals/snacks Clean up child-related dishes and highchair area after meals Support nap routine (wind-down, placing down for nap, monitoring) Hands-on care Diaper changes / potty assistance as needed Help with dressing, handwashing, and basic hygiene Comfortable lifting/carrying a toddler safely (important due to shoulder surgery recovery) Light child-related tidying Tidy play areas after activities Keep kid spaces organized during your shift (toys, books, supplies) Child laundry is a plus but not required (optional) Ideal Candidate Experience caring for toddlers (age 2 experience strongly preferred) Calm, patient, and confident with typical toddler behaviors (tantrums, transitions) Reliable and punctual, with strong communication CPR/First Aid certified (preferred) or willing to obtain Non-smoker Comfortable working in a home where a parent may be present References available (preferred) Benefits and What We Offer Competitive pay: $25/hour Predictable weekday schedule: Monday-Friday, ~100 hours/month Supportive, respectful work environment: clear expectations and open communication Low-drama household: we value kindness, safety, and consistency Potential ongoing position: opportunity to continue beyond recovery if it's a great fit Flexibility when possible: we can discuss the best daily time window to match your availability
