There are great neighborhoods around Phoenix, with easy access to a major city, nature, the arts and many more amenities.  **What You Will Do** + Developsmining plans based on all available geological information to support short and/or long-range planning and production goals. + Monitor mining methods and equipment, with a view to improving performance. + Assist in developing and managing mine ventilation. + Assist in identifying courses of action to improve safety, operational efficiencies, control production costs and protect the environment. + Participate in Engineering feasibility studies to define proper mining methods, equipment selection, mine site facilities, and manpower and production requirements. + Ensure maximum productivity and extraction rates by optimizing mining methods, procedures, and equipment. + Recommend courses of action designed to eliminate potential production problems and to improve safety, operational efficiency, control production costs and protect the environment. + Assist in the preparation of detailed ore reserve estimates. + Work with Geologists in exploration and assists in the Engineering phase of developments and operational activities. + Perform other duties as required. **What You Bring To Freeport** + Bachelor's degree in Mining or Geological Engineering  **and**  three (3) years of related experience in Engineering, ** OR** + Master's degree in Mining or Geological Engineering  **and**  two (2) years of related experience in Engineering + Knowledge of the principles and practices of Mining Engineering + Ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions. + Skilled in managing Engineering projects. + Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing + Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. + Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards. + Knowledge of one-plus (1+) Underground Mining method (i.e. competent to explain to others the requirements of the mining method familiar to the incumbent and how it differs generally from other mining methods) **Preferred Qualifications** + Knowledge of, or work experience in two (2) or more of the following: + Ventilation + Mine Planning + Scheduling + Ground Support + Surveying + Mining Crew Operations **What We Offer You** The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently **$90,000-$124,000.** This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
