Medical Assistant (Full Time) Location Dallas, PA :

We offer behavioral healthcare services - psychiatry, addiction recovery, mental disorder treatment, etc. - that allow clients at all stages of recovery or rehabilitation to reclaim health and well-being.

Summary: An essential role in the delivery of residential treatment services, this direct care position primarily involves interacting with and supervising clients in treatment. The shift is from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, with rotating weekends and flexible days.

Pay: $15/hr before shift differentials.

Shift: 7:00pm - 7:00am working every other weekend

Responsibilities:

  • Complete client observations during the MAT hours of operation.
  • Maintain therapeutic relationships with all clients and communicate changes in client status or milieu to the appropriate treatment team member.
  • Obtain vital signs, capillary blood sugars, and urine specimens as directed.
  • Report any significant changes in medical condition to leadership.
  • Encourage clients to engage in treatment and care for their ADLs, maintaining a clean environment.
  • Conduct all functions of the toxicology screening process, including data entry and specimen preparation.
  • Observe and document the medication dispensing process by the pharmacy vendor technician.
  • Verify that all admission documentation is available on admission day.
  • Maintain unit supply inventory by checking stock and placing orders.
  • Assist in addressing client medical concerns and escalate as needed.
  • Conduct follow-up calls for clients who have missed appointments.
  • Collect and log client payments.
  • Distribute client educational materials.
  • Complete required and mandatory training hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a drug and alcohol and/or residential setting preferred.
  • Active certification as a Certified Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants in lieu of high school diploma/GED is acceptable.
  • Experience as a Medical Assistant through employment or internship preferred.
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve by gathering and analyzing information.
  • Capability to handle a crisis situation and react appropriately.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
