The laboratory is fully accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB). **Preferred Qualifications** **Role Purpose** Responsible for providing a variety of routine and/or complex tests and procedures on tissue and related surgical specimens submitted for histological examination. **Responsibilities** + Understands test principles, theory, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of all instrumentation in assigned areas. + Tasks to include, but not limited to, microtomy, embedding, staining, reagent preparation. Performs and documents quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary.
