Job Description

Position Summary

The Distillery Event Sales Assistant role will work closely with O’Shaughnessy Distilling Co. to make group whiskey tours, whiskey tasting reservations, and organize catering events of all sizes within various areas of the distillery. This role organizes events that are designed to build brand awareness and promote the organization's products and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responding to leads and assisting with venue tours
  • Menu selection, floor plan/setup, vendor/rentals
  • Works closely with other hospitality team members and the culinary team to ensure all departments are scheduled appropriately and have accurate information.
  • Overseeing event captain(s) for setup, run of show, and room flips.

Miscellaneous projects and completes various tasks as needed by management

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • 2+ years’ experience in event sales role
  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, or related fields, or equivalent experience
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize while meeting deadlines.
  • Courteous, charismatic, self-driven
  • Previous experience with food and beverage menu planning
  • Experience using software for event planning; tripleseat preferred
  • Energetic results-oriented person with proven track record in establishing and achieving ambitious goals.
  • Positive attitude and congenial demeanor.
  • Strong communication skills, ie: organizational, interpersonal and written.
  • Requires evening and weekend work (dependent on event calendar)
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or previous experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience within distilling/production/hospitality environment

SALARY AND BENEFITS

This is an exempt position with a salary range of $45,000 – $50,000. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for commissions ranging from $20,000 - $35, 000. O’Shaughnessy offers medical, dental, 401k with employer match, PTO, company paid short-term disability, free onsite parking and an opportunity to work with an energetic team!
