Deck Electrician - Show Specific Contract

REPORTS TO: Lighting Supervisor

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB FUNCTION:

The Deck Electrician Show Specific Contract for Hale Centre Theatre will provide assistance in the daily show operations as well as complete deck elec specific preshow, half hour, run of show & postshow duties. This track / role is a show crew position only. The purpose of the position is to help maintain the show consistency from opening night to closing night. Skills needed to perform well in this position include (but are not limited to) basic electrical wiring, experience with DMX, wireless equipment, LED decoders, and other lighting control systems. Knowledge of EOS based systems. Troubleshooting skills for custom show equipment. Ability to stay calm under pressure. Great communication skills with a strong attention to detail for relaying show notes. Ability to work nights and weekends.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Run deck elec track for shows daily as assigned

• Complete Pre Show, Half Hour, Run of show & Post Show duties as assigned

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills - including attention to detail when relaying show or tech notes

• Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting skills for a variety of lighting equipment, fixtures and show specific elements

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment 

• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of organization and time management

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Flexibility to adapt to changing production needs and schedules including show run, tech & changeovers

• Experience with EOS based systems

• Able to read standard lighting draftings, Lightwright information & all show related documents

• Comfortable working with various LED tape, neon, and custom show specific equipment

• Good understanding of DMX, wireless equipment, LED decoders, and lighting control systems

• Other duties as assigned
