Job Description

We are looking for an Assistant Print and Color Designer with apparel experience for a top fashion company in New York City. This role will support the Concept and Trend Designers. Work within a specific classification and implement the category leader's direction in all aspects of the design process, trend research, print, pattern, color and concept design, following up through development and execution of the final product. This is a hybrid position  located in New York, NY and requires 3 days onsite.

Responsibilities:  

• Work with closely concept team in order to create print artwork that accurately reflects the desired aesthetic.
• Redesign core print designs in order to meet the needs of specific garments.
• Prepare production files for artwork that meet the expectations of our mills without sacrificing the aesthetic.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with cross functional partners.
• Execute artwork, color and print, pitching and editing.  
• Produce CAD designs and explanatory visuals for vendors.  
• Own on-going communication with vendors and other partners.  
• Manage color and print database.  
• Analyze provided color, print and pattern direction; interpret and adapt for PC program proposals.

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent experience
• 2-3 years of Textile design experience
• Proficiency in the latest releases of Illustrator and Photoshop.    
• Must have strong communication and organizational skills 
• Ability to multitask and meet overlapping deadlines 
• Ability to work on teams 
• Ability to work in a high volume, detail-oriented studio or fashion company
