Job Title: Business Process Specialist

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 2-3 days onsite weekly)

Industry: Nonprofit

Compensation: $25 - $35 / Hour

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Process Specialist to join a newly structured team focused on improving operational workflows across membership, events, and chapter support functions. This individual will play a key role in standardizing processes, leading cross-functional projects, and enhancing both internal efficiency and member-facing experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze current operational workflows to identify gaps, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities
  • Document and map processes using relevant tools to create standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Lead initiatives to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and support digital transformation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support process adoption and training
  • Leverage data to monitor performance metrics and inform future improvements
  • Support evaluation and implementation of tools or platforms to enhance automation
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance and association policies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3–5 years of experience in business analysis, operations, or process improvement
  • Strong background with CRM platforms
  • Exceptional communication and project coordination skills
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Experience with nonprofit, membership-based, or association organizations preferred
  • Familiarity with tools such as CVENT and HubSpot a plus
  • Strong proficiency with process mapping and data analysis tools
