Job Description

Description We are looking for an Assistant Technical Designer to join our team in Costa Mesa, California. This is a long-term contract position offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to the technical design process and ensure the highest quality standards for apparel products. The role focuses on supporting fit sessions, sample management, and maintaining brand integrity while collaborating with a dynamic and diverse team. Responsibilities: - Measure and evaluate incoming samples under the guidance of the Technical Designer to prepare for fit sessions and meetings. - Inspect samples for accuracy, quality, and adherence to technical specifications outlined in the tech pack. - Assist in managing and tracking samples throughout the product development lifecycle. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet established fit, quality, and cost standards. - Maintain organized records of sample evaluations and fit adjustments to support ongoing product improvements. - Support the Technical Designer in resolving issues related to garment construction and patterns. - Participate in reviewing product designs to ensure they align with brand standards and consumer expectations. - Utilize software tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office to assist in technical design tasks. - Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks while adhering to deadlines and project requirements. - Contribute to a proactive and results-driven team environment, addressing challenges with creative problem-solving. Requirements - Foundational knowledge of garment construction, sample measurement processes, pattern making, and grading. - Strong attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Proficiency in computer programs, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop. - Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and collaborative environment. - Demonstrated organizational skills and accountability in managing tasks from start to finish. - Self-motivated with the ability to solve problems and meet deadlines under time constraints. - Physical ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds when necessary. - Willingness to work additional hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
