Description Our client, a local government entity in Oakland is seeking an Appearances Deputy to join their team. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the daily operations of courtroom activities and coordination! Key Responsibilities + Coordinate with victims and notify them in advance to explain diversion programs and gather their input. + Call dockets and interact with records as needed. + Speak with victims regarding diversion-related matters, ensuring clear communication about court processes. + Present basic courtroom arguments when required. + Document courtroom updates and notes comprehensively, sharing key updates with team members promptly. + Assist in managing the daily diversion calendar without overseeing your own case load. Requirements Position Requirements + Must be California-barred. + Open to candidates with varied legal backgrounds, including: junior attorneys with DA internship experience (DA internship not required, but a plus!); newly barred attorneys; any level defense attorneys + Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for interacting with victims and courtroom personnel.
